thankful.

Happy day before thanksgiving! Before I get too busy nomming on some glorious turkey tomorrow, here are some things that I am thankful for:

1. adventures. even the little ones. whether it's traveling somewhere new, making a late night cookout run, or having a spontaneous photoshoot with a friend, I love the joy that spontaneity and unexpectedness add to my day.
2. mountains. I've been scheming and dreaming and trying to figure out how I can run away to roadtrip in the west for a little while. i'm obsessed with the hugeness of the mountains, and i love the way that they give depth to a sky that seems to go on forever.
3. sweet tarts. if i ever tell you that they're not my favorite candy, i'm lying.
4. yard sales, thrift stores, side-of-the-road-finds. They feed my creativity, and provide me with materials for crafts to decorate the bungalow.
5. senior girls at north meck. they model for me like nobody's business. They call me chef, even when i can only cook tacos & spaghetti. they encourage me daily
6. arts & crafts. I love painting, distressing, creating. I love sewing yoyo's (thanks meredith!). i love editing pictures. i love decorating bookshelves. i love cutting up magazines and using the paper to makes flowers and wreaths and envelopes.
7. wildflowers. i especially like wildflowers in the fall, when they are all yellow and white.
8. caffeine. i'm so thankful for it, but i'm quitting. really.
9. braids. they make my life so much easier in the morning. i wear some version of them approximately 6 days a week. maybe i'll just braid my hair for my wedding someday.
10. clouds. if i could paint, i'd quit school, run away, and become a professional cloud painter. I'm legitimately obsessed. Let's be real, i just want to be the Bob Ross of cloud painting.
11. photography. and my camera. It's my creative outlet, my passion, my escape from school. I just can't get enough of it.
12. my friends. seriously? i have the best. they are real with me, they encourage me, they support me. They are spontaneous with me, they make plans FOR me. Not only do we share meals, good conversations, wisdom, tears, and uncontrallable giggles, we do life together and constantly point each other toward Jesus.
13. warm weather+sun. it makes my heart leap for joy when I can walk around barefoot outside without my toes getting cold. And let's be honest, i have an irrational love affair with the sun.
14. anthropologie. it had to make the list. it provides me with endless decorating inspiration. It steals all my money, because it's the only place i can rationalize splurging. Oh, and makes me squeal more than anything ever should.
15. my journal. oh my gracious sakes, where would all my thoughts and prayers go if not in my journal? I'm not much for talking alot in public situations, but my mind goes a mile a minute and my journal never stops hearing about it.
16. safety pins. i use them for random things all the time. they are so great.
17. music. so many kinds. i love lyrically profound songs, and i love pretending like i can make the instrument noises in every song. i love trying (failing) to harmonize, and i love concerts. i ALWAYS have music on. Oh, and i love when songs mention Nashville.
18. my family. they provide for me, love me well, and always support me. They are quick-witted, silly, and all too often sport a fantastic southern accent. If I didn't know us, I'd think we were insane.
19. snow cones. enough said.
20. people who look at my blog. i don't even know who some of you are, but thank you for supporting me, getting my name out there, and leaving sweet comments. It means the more than the world to me when people tell me that they like my pictures.

I could go on forever, but I'll stop at 20, since that's how old I am (good enough reason? i think yes.).
What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for: italy and all of the ways in which it has challenged me, your blog for always giving me something pretty to look at, your eye for natural beauty, the sun (that hasn't shone here for weeks), your friendship and how it's grown despite the fact that i haven't annoyingly climbed in your bed while your trying to go to sleep even though you love it in over 5 months, mashed potatoes, tea parties, arts & crafts (especially when i get to do them with you), i'm especially thankful for your harmonizing and being the instruments in songs togehter :), and most of all i'm thankful for the fact that all of our wonderful friends will be reunited in 44 days :)
