2010 & 25000.

My heart is one that is crafted for adventure and for noticing beautiful detail, and 2010 was certainly not lacking in either. Don't ask me why, but I'm a date person; i remember details of events in correlation with the date that they happened. So it's not all that surprising that I remember October 29, 2009. Within a few days of getting my camera in the mail (lots of squealing involved), it was on this lifechanging day that I was taught to use it... in manual.

There are no words to describe the gratitude I have for so many things since that day. I've belly-laughed, played hard, and spoken in a few too many different accents with my very best friends, and have been met with their constant encouragement and willingness (even eagerness) to model for me. I have parents who were excited to "make an investment" and buy my first camera. I ate countless ice cream cones with, learned so much from, and tagged along on shoots with Sharon, who in my opinion is the best of the best. I hung out and had real conversations with my beautiful young life girls. I traveled all over Costa Rica, and I worked in the Dominican Republic and the glorious rocky mountains. I shot my first ever wedding in Aruba. I said painfully hard goodbyes and I made deep new friendships. I took thousands and thousands of pictures. This year has been a constant journey of learning to trust, and I've been shown over and over again that the Lord is faithful. He has continued to bless me with clients (friends, really) who are so talented and wonderfully made.

And on top of all these adventures, I've been blown away by those of you who are reading this. People who look at my blog, send me sweet messages, and write comments that leave me ridiculously smiley-- each of you makes my heart so happy. You are the ones who made January 1, 2011 another day I'll never forget, because it's the day that my blog hit 25,000 views, over half of which happened in the last 2 months. what.the.holy.heck. That absolutely, positively blows my mind, and thank you can't even begin to convey the gratitude and the joy that you guys have brought me in the journey of this past year.

Here's to year two of photographic adventures; i'll be delighted if it's even half as marvelous as this one!
