market adventures.

Yesterday was the first day of classes. I like my contemporary latinamerican short story class, i LOVE my latin american dance class, and i am already bored senseless in my advanced grammar class. My host mom took me to school and picked me up yesterday, and we joked that it was like my first day of kindergarden, because I was SO lost. Today, however, I walked ~30 minutes to school with a friend who lives nearby instead of taking the bus. Exercise is going to be very necessary with my excessive rice and bean intake. After lunch today (yes, rice and beans) my hostmom took me on an adventure to the market and what is considered downtown Heredia! Here are some pictures..

Oh, and please note the color of the sky in every single picture. The sun is nonexistent in Costa Rica's rainy season.

All of the Costa Rica guidebooks and orientation papers say to be so careful when crossing the street, because cars have the right of way and do NOT stop for people. I took the next picture while crossing the street, and then had to explain to my hostmom that photography is simply a dangerous sport.
